3 Modified Yoga Poses Centered on Acceptance
3 Modified Yoga Poses Centered on Acceptance—meeting yourself exactly as you are, without trying to change anything. Say to yourself, “I am allowed to take up space as I am.”
First is, Supported Mountain Pose. Mountain pose teaches being rather than doing. Nothing to fix, nowhere to go.
Stand with feet hip-width apart (wider is welcome).
Soften the knees; let arms rest naturally by your side or one hand on heart
Gently sway or rock until you feel balanced (if needed). Hold for several minutes.
Next, is Reclined Knee-to-Chest. This pose invites a quiet inward listening, without effort or expectation. I like to listen to what my body needs right now.
First, lie on your back and draw one or both knees in.
Hold behind thighs or shins—no pulling.
Rock softly side to side if it feels soothing. I know it always does for me. Hold for several minutes and remember to breathe.
Lastly, is Modified Child’s Pose – Child’s pose is an embodied yes-resting in what is, without resistance. Say to yourself, “This moment is enough.”
First, place your knees wide or together—choose comfort.
Place a bolster, pillow, or folded blanket under chest and/or head for support if you like.
Hips don’t need to touch heels; let gravity do the work. Reach forward and place your head on your blanket or pillow. Hold for several minutes and remember to breathe.
Namaste and remember, WE are Limitless
